Technical Manager - Large Scale Mixed Use Development

A leading and highly prominent Developer now requires a Technical Manager to coordinate major projects across the East of England involving major residential and mixed-use schemes.  You will have the responsibility to coordinate your projects working closely on the infrastructure and construction process leading the project teams made up of external advisors, contractors and internal colleagues. 

Key points of the role:

Support Development in preparing for and implementing the planning and strategy for the scheme.

Work closely with Development to procure the technical advice required by assembling the project team. To produce technical information, advising on abnormal conditions such as utility challenges, existing buildings and any other risks that may affect the development process.

Monitor the project team outputs to be sure they are adhering to the brief and challenge the buildability and cost-effectiveness. Being aware, that the buildings and infrastructure may have to be delivered by the business and thus communicating throughout the project team throughout the process. 

Assess and understand the risks associated with sites under your control and advise the business to put in place necessary site audit, risk assessment, insurance and site access permit measures. 

Candidate Profile for this Technical Manager 

Construction and/or property background with at least 7 years of relevant experience in construction-related companies such as a designer, contractor or developer. That experience has enabled you to manage schemes from inception and land purchase, through the phases of planning applications, consent and design to the successful delivery of the project. Ideally, you will have insight and expertise in the preconstruction stages, possessing the relevant qualifications. 

A strong contact base in the sector along with a network of supply chain advisors helps you to champion exceptionally high standards. This role will require extensive travel given the breadth of development projects undertaken by the client.
