Our client, one of Europe’s largest asset managers are seeking a Property Fund Analyst to provide fund analysis and financial modelling to the property fund management team.

Job duties include:

• Building and maintaining property fund financial models which include calculations of forecast cash flows and key performance indicators, such as fund returns. Initial funds will include two funds which hold long-dated investment grade property assets and three funds which own balanced portfolios of commercial property assets.
• For property purchases and sales, provide modelling support to the transaction manager to evaluate return profiles, bid pricing and client specific fixed income and liability matching analysis including comparator bond analysis and application of methodology.
• Providing analysis and insight to the wider platform in the areas of interest rate and inflation market data.
• Alongside the fund manager, represent the fund to potential clients to win new business, principally insurance consultants advising pension funds.
• Modelling and analysing fund performance as compared to MSCI real estate benchmarks.
• Ad hoc analytical and financial modelling tasks for fund manager and directors, to assist with fund manager decision making.
• Preparation of annual fund strategy and business plan financial model forecasts.
• Assist with client reporting, investor communications and presentation preparation. .
• Assist with portfolio monitoring tasks, such as tracking tenant credit ratings within the portfolio.
• Work with the wider business to implement new technology solutions to enhance financial modelling analysis and simplify access to data.
• Attend external valuation meetings, providing technical input and evaluating valuers' models together with and understanding the valuation methodology used.

Skills required:

• Significant experience in building and using Excel financial models.
• Experience of liability matching, fixed income and property asset classes.
• Understanding of investment return calculations, preferably for commercial property investments.
• An ability to communicate complex ideas in formal and informal settings, such as a presentation to a client or in conversation with a fund manager.
• A willingness to work independently on analytical assignments.
• A diligent and responsible approach to checking financial modelling assumptions, results and forecasts.
• Insightful when approaching fund analysis tasks to support fund manager and transaction managers to create value or solve problems.
• Efficiently prioritising tasks and managing a workload for multiple stakeholders.
• Studying towards the CFA charterholder, or similar professional qualification, is an advantage.
