You have the opportunity to join an exciting luxury residential developer who are changing the way our city looks through the development of high-end residential properties. This organisation is synonymous with quality city living and they have built a reputation as a highly successful delivering bespoke apartment and town house developments.
We are working with our client to find experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors for two major residential projects. These are not your typical house building schemes, these are multi-storey high-end luxury apartments typical of the type of project our client has made their trademark. Based very near to the major rail links in central Birmingham (both Snow Hill and New Street) our clients modern offices will provide a busy base for you to undertake the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor whilst surrounded by a growing and high calibre team. This business has made no redundancies and is outperforming the sector at the moment, they can therefore offer more stability than the wider market at this time along with many other major selling points.
Our client is quite unique in that they are both the developer and builder of their projects, offering a unique perspective to the role and providing some clear advantages in the delivery of quality projects. They are extremely professional and committed to the delivery of these exciting developments. They are growing rapidly so there will be the opportunity to progress in the future.
As the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have a proven track record working for a main contractor, developer or specialist sub-contractor in the construction sector. You will be adequately qualified in a construction related discipline and be responsible for conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports. You will be experienced at applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan. You will manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively. You will ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively whilst ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively. You will ensure the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client. You will manage Value engineering and life cycle costing and where appropriate, lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.

On offer to the successful candidate is a base salary of up to £65,000 plus a car allowance of £6,000.
