Construction Manager
Location: Nottingham

Our client a large privately owned construction, housing and investment company.

Due to continued success and expansion they now require a Construction manager to be based in Nottingham.

Sectors targeted will include Education, Health, Leisure & Fitness, National Government, Local Authority, Hotels, National Food and Retail. Project values will be between £5M & £30M.

The project will involve designing and constructing a new 340 bedroom house-block, energy centre, reception, healthcare block, visits, officer’s mess and gatehouse along with some further ancillary upgrade work.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Construction related degree (or lower level with equivalent experience) Must be ambitious and prepared to develop and progress
• MCIOB preferable but not essential
• 5 day CITB Site Managers Health & Safety Certificate preferred
• CSCS preferred

Experience Required:
• Significant experience up to contracts manager/project manager level
• Worked on a variety of contracts, preferably including Education
• Partnering experience preferable but not essential
• Run large value single projects of about £12m or, multiple smaller projects of about £2m or £3m

Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure delivery of project to time, budget and quality
• Ensure that Willmott Dixon is not exposed to unnecessary risk
• Maintain a high level of control & compliance with Willmott Dixon procedures
• Lead and motivate resources including the supply chain to effectively deliver the project
• Maintain the highest standards of safety
• Develop a one team philosophy that is truly client focused, to maximise our opportunities and secure repeat business from clients and consultants
• Develop an overall project strategy whilst considering the long term Group objective of securing 60% partnered work
