Encompassing a unique range of properties across London, our corporate occupier rating portfolio has a total RV in excess of £90m. As corporate lead, you'll manage that substantial portfolio and deliver value for money by reducing rating liability through proactive management of our three external teams of rating consultants and other professional advisors such as legal Counsel. Other key tasks will include building and managing an annual budget which this year stands at £35m and developing and testing new coding on our Manhattan rating database in conjunction with IT specialists.

Drawing on your in-depth knowledge of rating law and public and private sector experience of managing a large and diverse rating portfolio, you'll ensure that rating liability is minimised, working with advisors to take appeals through to Valuation and Lands Tribunals as appropriate. A skilled communicator, you'll have proven ability to convey technical information in a clear and persuasive way to a wide audience. A good networker and skilled data manipulator in Excel, you should also be able to develop relationships to maximise rating relief and be familiar with using corporate property rating databases.

Ideally, you will be a Chartered Surveyor, relevant degree holder or have equivalent experience.

Senior Rating Surveyor

A leading London based firm of Property Consultants who specialise in Commercial Property are seeking an experienced Rating Surveyor to join their organisation.

Providing advise to a national portfolio of clients, you will be responsible for analysing a number of commercial real estate assets, including office, retail & industrial properties.

Working closely with a Senior Partner, the successful candidate will ideally be an experienced Rating Surveyor who can drive the division forward. You will be responsible for providing Business Rates advise to a host of clients ranging from landlords and tenants to large commercial banks.

You will be tasked with completing rent reviews, lease renewals, review rental income for each property as well as attend court appeals for business rates cases when required.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of the Rating sector, with experience of assisting with rating appeals and L&T queries. Ideally the candidate will be RICS qualified with a track record within the commercial property market.
