They deliver every aspect of development, including private and affordable housing, commercial property, mixed use and mixed-tenure schemes.

About the role:
The Commercial Department lies at the very core of the business. For the company to be successful costs have to be accurately identified and reported as well as sensibly minimised without prejudicing the quality of the homes or the quality of the relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director the department’s key roles include:

  • Setting competitive but realistic budgets for projects
  • Sourcing resources for projects
  • Controlling and reporting on project costs
  • Managing the commercial risks within projects
  • Managing and controlling payments to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Managing contractual relationships with RSL’s
  • The provision of strategic input regarding underlying movements in  cost base
  • Discharging all Health and Safety functions
  • Operating within the framework set by the company’s ethos map
  • The maintenance of all relevant systems, processes and procedures

What We're Looking for:
The successful candidate must have sufficient breadth of experience, capability and inherent integrity to:

  • Project manage the delivery of a cohesive and effective commercial department
  • Work proactively with the Commercial Director and at senior management level
  • Provide support to the Commercial Director in the development of strategic plans
  • Be able to contribute to issues across all aspects of operations
  • Possess the objectivity and openness of mind to reconsider standard approaches in light of different or potentially changing circumstances
  • Respect and foster the companies ethos
  • Take care of, nurture and grow the staff and assets entrusted to them
