Interim Principal Investment & Development Surveyor (Full or Part time via a job share)

Salary £46,558 - £50,701 pa (or pro-rata if part time via a job share)

This is an exciting opportunity for a RICS qualified general practice surveyor with a good grounding in Development and Project delivery to work, either full or part time, as a key player within a small dynamic team, on an interesting and varied workload. The position is for a fixed period of one year to provide maternity cover. There may be potential to work part time via a job share arrangement and we are committed to providing a healthy work life balance and can offering flexible working.

Mid-way between London and the South Coast, and covering large parts of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, Mole Valley is an attractive, predominantly rural district which includes the market towns of Dorking and Leatherhead. The successful candidate will work within a friendly, lively environment working predominantly on the implementation of the exciting Transform Leatherhead masterplan, a 10 year £200 million masterplan to transform Leatherhead into a modern market town which was adopted in 2016. The candidate may also be required to assist on the acquisition of investment properties on behalf of the Council so experience in this field would be an advantage.

Reporting directly to the Investment & Regeneration Manager, the work load will be varied including: undertaking and commissioning feasibility studies, working with and influencing various internal and external stakeholders, running pre-application discussions in advance of planning submissions, managing external consultants, project management, budget monitoring and the procurement and selection of delivery partners.

Excellent communication skills, results oriented and skilled at balancing and prioritising a varied work load whilst being motivated and a good team player are all prerequisites for the role. Previous public sector experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Closing date: 22 October 2018, noon

Interviews held: 30/31 October 2018
