HEAD OF CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

Total reward package of over £100,000 per annum

Our estate extends to over 300 acres, across a number of conservation areas. It includes 70 acres of woodland and gardens, a 60-acre farm, 120 acres of sports fields, a nine-hole golf course and 150 buildings, many of which have historical importance.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Capital Development to lead and develop our extensive and innovative Estate Master Plan and other major development priorities. This position offers the successful candidate a unique and career-defining opportunity to help shape the future of this historic heritage environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure the successful delivery of the School’s Estate Master Plan.
  • To take full project management responsibility for the other elements of the capital development/construction programme within agreed financial and programme parameters. Projects will typically range from £1m to £30m.
  • Ensuring the Project/Design teams deliver high standards of quality and strive to achieve a ‘right first time’ culture.
  • To maintain and develop effective working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to the delivery of capital projects.

You will:

  • Be educated to degree level and hold a relevant professional qualification either MRICS/MAPM or both.
  • Have extensive experience of successfully delivering new build projects and complex capital projects across heritage, new and listed buildings on time and to budget.
  • Have a demonstrable track record of contract and tender procedures, experience of managing contracts and contractors, and a strong knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Have experience of working within a ‘live’ estate; previous experience of working within an educational setting is highly desirable but not essential.

Closing date: Noon, 16 November 2018
Interviews will take place: week commencing 26 November 2018

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all successful applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
