A family owned private property company is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to run its UK office based in Edenbridge, Kent.

This long-established business invests, develops and regenerates property, primarily in the retail/office/industrial sectors, though not averse to considering other opportunities. Properties are located throughout South-East England and the focus is on long-term holding rather than trading, with structured growth to mitigate market volatility.

The post has become available due to a pending retirement of the incumbent director, and this could be a great opening for the right person to use their knowledge, ability and contacts to ensure the ongoing growth and security of an established and well-respected company.

Reporting directly to the owner of the business, you would be solely responsible for the day to day operations of the company.

This is a unique opportunity to run a private property company and utilise both your property management skills and general business acumen in this extremely competitive field. The role offers a great deal of independence, including flexible working hours.

The Director will be responsible for:

•  Asset management and valuation across a £10m low-geared property portfolio.
•  Sourcing and appraising new acquisitions.
•  Developing and implementing business strategy.
•  Hands-on property management.
•  Liaising with external professionals.
•  Property inspections, dilapidations and maintenance.
•  Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across the portfolio
•  Managing budgets, VAT and accounts

Key Requirements:

•  Member of RICS.
•  Extensive experience in Commercial Asset Management.
•  Thorough understanding of the legal processes and relevant legislation
•  A good knowledge of building construction and planning requirements
•  Strong budget management and basic accounting.
•  Experience working as a Director or senior management.
•  Valid driving licence.
