Our client is looking for an established building surveyor to help with the expansion and delivery of their ambitious refurbishment programme.

Working for one of the most successful charity retailers in the UK you will be an integral member of the building and maintenance department.

The role offers flexibility with home working enabling the successful incumbent to manage their own weekly schedule. As part of the team you will be working closely with the entire business and in particular the estates team where you will be instrumental in assessing all new acquired properties ready to be refurbished.

The prerequisite for this role is that the individual has experience in pre-acquisition surveys ahead of taking on any potential site. They will be advising the estates team of any potential disrepair liabilities or operational issues that need to be addressed to make the premises fit for purpose (means of escape, rights of way, travel distances, asbestos, fire regulations, asbestos and H&S). You will be dealing with a mix of properties including, retail, commercial and industrial sheds so experience with this variance of property type will be advantageous.

You will be familiar with CAD and be able to measure and draw up plans for new sites whilst writing the scope of works for the projects prior to submission to the approved contractor list. You will interrogate the tenders and appoint the appropriate contractor before running the project on site to completion and handover to the retail team.
