Permanent – full time 37 hours per week

Following a review of the senior management structure, we are now looking to appoint a new Housing and Commercial Asset Manager to help drive forward the work of the newly formed Growth and Regeneration Directorate and play a lead role in developing the Council’s commercial and place shaping aspirations.

In this pivotal role, you will lead a newly formed corporate property team that focuses on maximising the potential of all our assets. As well ensuring that the new Housing Repairs contract is successfully embedded and maintaining our fixed assets to a high standard.

Leading the service forward, you will have the opportunity to advance your commercial skill set in the establishment of a trading company with a view to securing new opportunities for acquisitions and developments which will generate additional revenue for the Council.

This is an exciting time for you to join us and develop your career across a broad spectrum of work involved in the management and maintenance of housing stock, optimising the use of a corporate estate and the management and expansion of diverse land, property and commercial investments.

About you

We are looking for a someone who takes a commercial and entrepreneurial approach and can identify and seize opportunities through land acquisition and (where appropriate) disposal to increase income, promote growth and facilitate new development.

Whether you are from a surveying, asset management, contract management or housing repairs and maintenance background, what will we be looking for, first and foremost, is your ability to drive change, improve contract performance and instill a commercial approach.
