The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

The Council has an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) to join the Council’s Estate Management Service, which provides a comprehensive asset and property management service for a large and varied portfolio currently valued at in excess of £1 billion.

We are seeking a commercially minded individual to help transform the Council’s investment estate and non-operational property. You will play an integral role in managing the Council’s land and property and will be tasked with seeking out opportunities to maximise income and investment returns whilst identifying underperforming assets and opportunities to rationalise the council’s property holdings. You will be responsible for managing your own varied caseload and will have the opportunity to be involved in projects across Council Services affecting property.

The post would suit enthusiastic property professionals with a good understanding of landlord and tenant issues who are seeking a challenge. Experience of working within a local authority would be an advantage.
