Job Details

A pioneering urban regeneration company is recruiting for a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their career to join their team.

Their mission is to accelerate growth and capitalise on the borough’s position as London’s hottest investment and development opportunity. They are a property developer, including commercial agency, construction and planning consultancy, and also undertake statutory planning services on behalf of the Council (including Development Management, Planning Policy and Building Control). They utilise council and commercial investment resources to acquire sites, secure planning permission and build out new residential and commercial developments.

This role will suit those who are interested in data and statistics, but understand how this ties into development and the built environment. Your job will be to monitor progress of planning permissions through to construction and completion, identifying issues slowing delivery and assisting colleagues in coming up with the solutions to address this.

This is a new role, and will sit within the Planning Policy Team which itself is undergoing significant change to become a proactive, research-oriented team that ensures planning is set up to facilitate and deliver successful, sustainable places.

There is lots of scope to make this role your own, and being adaptable to its development is key. Key responsibilities will include:

• Identify and / or develop the tools and processes to gather accurate and up-to-date information to monitor the progress of planning permissions, including residential completions;

• Liaising with colleagues to input into the borough’s housing trajectory and 5 year housing supply, as well as indicators for the Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) and tracking of New Homes Bonus;

• Keep the London Mayor’s London Development Database up-to-date;

• Collect from scheme projects and liaise with developers, colleagues and other stakeholders;

• Analyse data yourself including quantitative analysis where appropriate, presenting key findings as required, and deriving insight including potential solutions to problems;

• Building your profile to be able to successfully liaise with developers, colleagues and other teams in the Council.

You will at least have an interest in, and ideally some experience, working in the property sector and therefore an understanding of planning and development.

You will be a quick thinker, be able to take the initiative and have strong communication skills. It would be useful if you can use common spreadsheet and database programmes, and have an understanding of quantitative analysis. Moreover you should be perceptive, analytical and have a love of the built environment.

This is an exciting time to join this team. Please email hello@kdhassociates.co.ukif you have any queries.
