This is a key role within a small and close-knit team, with significant exposure and responsibility offered from an early stage. The role offers good variety of activity, being a blend of financial, commercial and legal and the ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to work within an entrepreneurial environment in this fast-paced and growing business,

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Investment team, Chief Development Officer and CFO in a number of activities, including:

  • Research into UK, European and US markets
  • Origination: Detailed analysis of potential opportunities including financial modelling
  • Execution: Assistance with commercial, financial and legal due diligence, preparation of investment reports, assistance with negotiation of legals and completion of transactions
  • Project work across a number of different businesses and industries

  • Highly analytical with excellent Excel skills specific to financial modelling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to present information clearly and concisely
  • Attention to detail, rigor and structured thinking
  • Pro-active with good problem-solving abilities
  • Efficient and able to balance multiple responsibilities with good upward management skills
  • Team player, able to work and develop relationships with a variety of personalities with different professional backgrounds within a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly numerate and with solid technical skills

Essential qualifications/experience

  • Educated to Degree level, minimum 2:1 grade in maths, economics or similar subject
  • c. Two or three years' experience in an analytical or transactional role with a heavy financial modelling-aspect
  • Interest in the hospitality and leisure sectors

Desirable qualifications/experience

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience within a top tier strategy consultancy (Corporate Finance advisory also considered)
  • Corporate transaction experience (due diligence / corporate finance / M&A experience)
  • Big 4 qualified accountant (newly qualified considered) with CF experience
  • Good understanding of real estate valuation techniques.
