Are you currently looking for an opportunity to lead on major new build development projects, refurbishment and planned maintenance works across the South West and the UK?

I have a fantastic opportunity with a leading Health-Care provider for a Property Services Manager, covering in excess of 20 properties across the UK, with the main location for this role based in Poole. This is a new position within the company and one that offers a fast track up to Director level. With a busy pipeline of work and plans to expand further this role will take the lead on all major developments and refurbishment projects across the portfolio, as well as working closely with the FM team to manage any necessary the maintenance and the planned works for the organisation. They currently have up to nine projects running, some in excess of £1 million.

The role offers a competitive salary and the ability to fast track to Director in a short space of time! This could be the perfect role for someone looking for the chance to take ownership of projects and take that next step in their career.

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering BOTH new build developments/ refurbishments and planned maintenance work, ideally with exposure across the Health Care sector although someone from a Building Surveying background within a Housing Association will also be of interest. We are looking for a strong leader with the technical knowledge and the gravitas to deal with stakeholders. RICS is preferred but not completely essential if you have a proven track record in delivering new build development and refurbishment projects. Travel will be required to service the needs of the organisations portfolio (UK) so this should be factored in.

Key duties


  • To develop and maintain positive collaborative relations with both internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • To manage the facilities team
  • To lead on health and safety programmes such as CHAS
  • To provide oversight to the GCD on the FM tracker as requested
  • To ensure swift turnaround of any building areas which support revenue generation
  • To develop a programme of planned maintenance
  • To develop an asset tracking system
  • To lead on building projects, maintenance programmes and ongoing property management for the Group
  • The ability to achieve best value and cost-effective project management
  • To be amiable, professional and approachable at all times.
  • To make recommendations based on 'value for money' basis.
  • To be able to capture financial and non-financial benefits.
  • To develop and implement effective contracting and supplier strategies that mitigate financial/market risks and wherever possible reduce the cost of procured materials, goods and services
  • To contribute to strategic analysis of procurement and contracting taking account of both demand and available budgets.
  • Working in accordance to the scope of works and within specified timescales to meet any planning conditions or regulatory requirements, with particular reference to the complex environments within the Group.
  • To perform other such duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as may be reasonably required.
