Assistant surveyor Property management
Assistant surveyor opportunity for one of the leading consultancies within their successful property management team. The candidate will need commercial property management experience to be considered. The role is paying up to £28k + benefits + APC support. The purpose of the job is to support the delivery of property management services to clients by the surveying team and includes report generation, data management, H&S risk management, and other routine administrative tasks which support the service to client and assist in the management of risk. The role will also include overseeing annual insurance renewals together with general insurance administration, including claims management.
The role
- To understand the client's objective and instructions in relation to each property
- To provide general administrative assistance to the Property Manager in relation to all aspects of Property Management
- To manage insurance renewals, the apportionment and recovery of insurance premiums, the distribution of insurance inspection reports
- To assist and, where possible, to take charge of the management of all insurance claims
- To ensure all records are complete and accurate at all times, in particular in relation to insurance
- To maintain trackers for the team detailing property inspections and void unit inspection requirements and to monitor the team to ensure completion in accordance with client KPIs
- To assist, as appropriate, with onsite management and in particular, the maintenance of portfolio-wide records, evidencing Health and Safety and statutory compliance performance
- To assist in client reporting on all aspects of Property Management, including preparation of client proformas for instructions
- To assist with the management of fee forecasting and fee raising systems, including calculation of fees under Management Agreement and the recovery of fee shares
- To assist in the smooth transition of properties into management and assist in property disposals
- To assist in monitoring Landlords' and Tenants' compliance with covenants
- Tenant liaison to respond to day to day issues
Requirements
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Methodical with proven organisations skills and experience in setting up administrative systems and ability to learn new tasks/systems quickly
- Experienced detail conscious organiser who has an enthusiastic approach to work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Initiative in taking action and response when necessary
- Customer service driven with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage time and assist the team in meeting deadlines
- Experience with Excel / Outlook /Word and PowerPoint
- Preferred to A level ideally
- Strong company ethos
- A basic understanding of property management matters including lease structures and service charge accounting.
- An understanding of property structures a significant advantage
