Job Details

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Associate level Environmental Planner to join a leading independent consultancy in their Bristol office. This company have a national network of offices and their environmental team is spread across 5 of these offices operating as one business unit. This organisation has a number of complimentary disciplines including town planning and Infrastructure and this role offers the opportunity to work closely with these teams offering a national service to an impressive client base.

You will be working on large scale projects within a range of sectors including environmental, energy, infrastructure, residential, mixed-use, commercial, logistics, EfW, Solar and Rail. This is both from and EIA (whereby the team manage the full EIA process) and a Strategic Planning angle (work around sustainability appraisals, evidence based work behind local plans etc).

We are ideally looking for dual qualified MRTPI and IEMA candidates but could consider one of these qualifications with experience and knowledge of the other. For example, you will have excellent technical knowledge and understanding of environmental impact assessment best practice and how this applies to the UK Planning system. You will have proven experience of all stages of the EIA process (screening, scoping, EIA management & coordination, preparation of Environmental Statements (ES)) and post-submission/determination. Experience in other environmental planning services including Sustainability Appraisal, sustainability statements, health impact assessment, advice relating to Habitats Regulations Assessment. and the audit of third-party reports would also be desirable. Managing these issues in the context of the Development Consent Order (DCO) process as well as Town & Country Planning would also give an advantage

In addition to technical competency we are also looking for client facing, ambitious individuals who want to get involved in and enjoy business development (lots of their work comes from internal referrals and joint pitching with other teams as well as external pitches). You must be a team player, there are no big egos in this team and they promote a collaborative, fair and trust based working relationship whilst being pro-flexible working and ensuring there is a structured progression path. You will also be rewarded with a very competitive salary and benefits package.

To confidentially apply for this role please contact Ruth Hoggett (ruth@beachbaker.co.uk). By clicking apply, please be assured that your CV will not be sent to the client until you have been fully briefed on the role and given permission for us to do so. We will confidentially retain your details and inform you of any other suitable opportunities arising should you not be successful in this role.
