Group Land Director

About us

We are Churchill Retirement PLC, the fastest growing company in the UK retirement house building sector and we’re looking for people like you.

We’re a family-run, privately-owned business and we’re going places. We’re proud of what we do, and the people we work with. We have ambitious growth plans for the future, now employing 600 people and growing all the time.

We pride ourselves on building beautiful, quality, purpose-built one and two bedroom apartments in desirable locations across the UK for those looking for an independent lifestyle in later life. Developments are designed to take away all the hassle and fears that can be experienced by older people and provide security, peace of mind and independence.

We’ve won a host of awards; most recently we have been recognised by The Sunday Times as the 2nd best company to work for and in 2016 we became the first ever retirement living specialist to have been named overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ by the WhatHouse? Awards.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit for a new position here at Churchill Retirement Living, which will be reporting directly to our Chairman & Chief Executive Officer. As Group Land Director you will act as the intermediary between land and other key departments to ensure that all opportunities are optimised and support the wider land teams in successfully securing the right sites for the Company.

You will use your established network of contacts with external land agents, local authorities and police authorities to enable the Company to be at the forefront of land opportunities across the country. It’s important that you are a skilled negotiator and have experience of putting together complex land deals.

You will work closely with the in-house planning and legal teams, and you will attend key meetings offering robust challenge to ensure that all elements of the land purchase have been considered. As the Group Land Director you will work closely with the Chairman & Chief Executive on all land matters and will play a pivotal role in developing the Company strategic land plan for the short, medium and longer term.

The role will be based from Ringwood, but will involve extensive travel around the UK.

About you

You will be an expert in your profession and will already be operating in a senior strategic land role but will be seeking a new challenge in a growing Company. You will have a proactive approach, and will have the Company’s best interests and strategic goals at the forefront of your mind at all times.

You will enjoy working with a range of internal and external contacts, not afraid to speak your mind and provide reasonable yet robust challenge, backed up with demonstrable experience to ensure that all proposals are thoroughly thought through and considered.

It would be desirable if you had a recognised qualification such as RICS or MRTPI, however not essential providing proven skills and experience can be demonstrated.

How you’ll be rewarded

  • Competitive salary and bonus
  • Company Car or Car Allowance
  • Annual holiday entitlement - 28 days + Bank Holidays
  • Private Healthcare for you and your family
  • Health screening every two years

  • Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Plus much much more!
