The Client

It doesn’t always have to be about “box-bashing” and profit margins, it can also be about creating communities, and adding much-needed housing to deprived areas. Luckily with this business, you can do both.

My client is a well-backed residential developer with a national presence. They build fantastic traditional-build homes for the speculative market, and they also engage in partnerships with various entities to deliver larger, more diverse schemes.

The Role

Have you ever had the desire to open a new office, being the first in? Well that’s exactly what this role entails. The business in question are looking to expand to an area they don’t currently cover, but with the added support of having two regional offices in the vicinity.

They need somebody to start flying the flag and buying land across the South Yorkshire and North Midlands area – this can be immediate or strategic. Not only that, they want this person to start forming relationships with RSL’s, investment vehicles, local councils, anybody really that is open to a joint venture and making a difference.

The idea is that once land has been secured, the regional office can start being put together. Will you be in with a shot at the top job? Yes. Is it guaranteed? No, you’ll have to earn it.

The Candidate

Somebody with experience buying land (obviously), but it has to be residential land. Patch knowledge is also a must, because that is something they currently lack – they need this person to open the doors they have been unable to.

You will need to be tenacious, driven, and a self-starter for this position. There will be a lot of time on the road, and doing the hard yards establishing the brand.

Most of all the company want you to be passionate about making a difference. They also know there’s more to life than just profit margin.
