Your new company

Your new company are an independent group of construction and building consultants with offices in Guildford and London, serving clients across Surrey, Middlesex & London.

The organisation started as an amalgamation of three independent practices, pooling employees, skills and client bases together to maximise their resources and business opportunities within the local area. Since then the business have gone from strength to strength, and are looking to strengthen their Guildford office team which has seen an increase in business demand, with plenty of future work on the horizon.


Your new role

Working as part of a dedicated Building Surveying team within the Guildford office, you will provide a variety of services to key clients across Surrey, into Hampshire, Sussex and surrounding areas too.
Your role will predominantly involve education project work but there will also be technical instructions to be carried out across commercial properties within the are to. Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Dilapidations and related landlord and tenant matters
  • Fit out of commercial and industrial buildings
  • Planned preventative maintenance advice and implementation
  • Building Surveys
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Cost Management and Contract administration
  • Defect Analysis, specification and supervision of remedial works



What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role you will need a high level of communication and excellent client facing skills, experience and aptitude in providing clarity and advice to non-construction professionals and clients will be key as you will be liaising with school representatives and stakeholders on a regular basis.

Prior experience working as a building surveyor or project manager on education projects is ideal, but not essential, however you will need a minimum of two years experience in a Building Surveying role, and hold a Bachelors or equivalent level degree in Building Surveying or a closely related subject.

This role requires you to hold a valid UK driver's license as travel via car will be necessary to fulfil this role.


What you'll get in return

In return you will receive a competitive annual salary in-line with your level of experience, bench-marked at £35 - 40K per annum, there will be a car allowance provided in addition to this as well as company benefits on top.

You will also get to experience a variety of work across the education and commercial sectors, developing your skills in a number of areas (as listed above). APC support will be provided if you wish to pursue membership to the RICS.
