Unique opportunity to work for the most well developed and advanced supplier of property related consultancy advice to Fortune 500 firms. They have a globally respected team who work with occupiers at various levels of engagement, from supporting project specific advice to providing in depth holistic analysis across a large geographically spread Real Estate portfolio at a business, operating entity, and property level to develop a targeted strategic action plan to meet the client’s needs. The team is comprised of both variable consultants, who are assigned to multiple clients on short-term projects and deliverables, and also embedded consultants who work closely with one client to provide a deeper level of understanding and provide strategic advice for a continued period of time. 

The necessity for occupiers of commercial property to develop a real estate strategy is changing. Real estate requirements today have radically changed from what they were in the past and will continue to evolve as transformations in technology, access to data, talent development and attraction, transportation, and the ways in which companies work, impact how to build the right blend of real estate. Occupiers are seeking alternative strategies to optimise their real estate portfolio’s that may result from a number of different drivers, e.g. changes in market conditions or business environment, growth and/or geographic expansion, M&A activity, cost savings initiatives, and many more.

Before any real estate solution can be offered to a client the team need to have a deep understating of the client’s existing portfolio, locations, current approach to property holdings, etc and at Consultant and Senior Consultant level they need to grow their team who provide this Analysis.

Role responsibilities:

  • As a consultant you will support and/or take the lead on a variety of complex analyses used in the development of deliverables focused on real estate strategies in close support of  clients.
  • You will prepare financial (P&L / Cash Flow) and other analysis for a range of client deliverables, including metro and city plans, scenario options, process improvements and business unit communications.
  • Experience in conducting analysis and due diligence in terms of transactions, consulting, contract negotiation.
  • In addition, you will provide detailed analysis to identify and support optimization initiatives across a spectrum of real estate related activities including organisational design and management practices.
  • You will work closely with other members of the wider Corporate team, including Transaction Management, Location Advisory, Capital Projects, Capital Markets, Workplace occupancy planning and change management, integrating their data and expertise into a comprehensive client deliverable.

Person Specification/Requirements

  • To be considered for this role you must have experience of working in an analytic role previously, preferably portfolio, optimisation, or property specific.
  • Ability to understand the client requirements and tailor deliverables for each specific project, large or small.
  • Highly numerate, with understanding of cash flow, balance sheet and P&L workings
  • Experience in conducting analysis and due diligence in terms of transactions, consulting, contract negotiation, and
  • Experience in change management and transition management is a benefit as many solutions involve altering the traditional ways of thinking and/or working.
  • Must have a practical working knowledge of financial terms and principles
  • High communication skills at all levels across internal and external teams
  • Experience of the Real Estate sector is of benefit, but NOT essential
  • An active and inquisitive mind is important to develop our research and consulting offering
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, and often stakeholders outside of the U.K.
  • Ability to work independently and self-solution via internal and external resources
  • Strong report writing and client facing skills are integral to the role
  • Good/advanced skill level of usual Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
