An opportunity has arisen for a capable Business Rates Manager to join a renowned north west based Property Investor. Working from their head office in Cheshire, the appointed Business Rates Manager will be part of an essential team who ensure the company's exposure to empty business rates is minimised.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Group's business rates management, including checking and authorising rate demands, rateable value amendments, processing and tracking empty rates mitigation procedures, transitional certificates, recovering over-payments and obtaining rates refunds, current and historic rate audits, advice on splits, mergers and section 44A certificates.

With previous specialist rating experience in dealing with rates liabilities and relief/refunds, the successful candidate must possess the ability to manage their time and resources effectively to ensure delivery on time and in a professional and thorough manner. Detailed knowledge of business rates calculations, legislation and case law is a pre-requisite.

My client is seeking an organised individual who is able to communicate confidently and be highly proficient in all Microsoft programmes including MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Previous data base entry and maintenance is essential whilst familiarity with Riverlake software is preferable.
