Manage a privately owned portfolio that covers Manchester and the wider North West

Your new company
This organisation is one of the largest privately owned alcohol distributors in Europe, and over the last 30 years they have purchased a large, expansive and varied portfolio of properties across Manchester, the North West and down the M6 corridor. They include retail units, industrial, warehouses, residential properties, offices and leisure/hospitality units, all of which are owned and operated by the company.

With a headquarters in the Isle of Man, they also have remote offices in Manchester and the south to cover their UK businesses, and with their secure portfolio, show no signs of being affected by Brexit or market uncertainty.

Your new role
Reporting to the Directors and CEO you will be required to fulfil the following duties:

  • Maintaining and developing the portfolio to maximising the value of the assets and asset income
  • Co-ordinating with the facilities services team and contractors - ensuring delivery of works
  • Preparing annual service charge budgets and handling any queries
  • Signing off all invoicing associated with each property and cost coding and assigning to the various cost centres
  • Liaising rent reviews and monitoring rent, service charge payments and outstanding monies
  • Dealing with breaches of the lease
  • Making regular site visits
  • Have a working understanding of all key legislation regarding property
  • Arranging and attending quarterly client meetings, occasionally chairing
  • Maintaining client relationships

In addition to managing their own portfolio of properties, the role will also involve the management of properties leased on behalf of other divisions of the group across the U.K. Where these properties are concerned, you will be responsible with renegotiating leases, agreeing dilapidations and rent reviews and other associated tasks.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have UK based commercial asset management experience, and ideally experience as the tenant as well. You will not need to be MRICS though it is beneficial, and you'll need to be flexible on travel to the Isle of Man and the North West.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a highly competitive salary, holidays, flexibility to manage your own workload, and a secure, varied portfolio to manage.
