Temporary Environmental Building Specialist job for public sector organisation in Skipton

Your new role
You will take a lead on environmental policy and delivery for this organisation, analysing and investigating a variety of buildings and construction projects, with a range of opportunities for improvement of energy consumption and production, and carbon footprint management. You will investigate the benefits of different sustainable options, such as geo-thermal, green energies, solar panelling etc and present your findings and recommendations with regard to some key projects. You will assist with bids for funding and work up schemes for delivery of these improvements. You will have the opportunity to assess greenfield sites, wind farms, solar farms, and improvements to existing buildings and key construction projects.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an environmental and energy specialist, familiar with various methods of improving energy strategy, and ideally have good construction knowledge, with the ability to pull together a plan for delivery of recommended strategies. Experience in managing this process, and delivering within a public sector environment would be a benefit but not essential.

What you'll get in return
The hourly rate will be dependent on expertise, and is open to full or part time candidates on 3 days a week. It will be for a number of months, and is open for an immediate start.
