Permanent Position: £55,000 - £75,000 plus car allowance and bonus

We are working with an award-winning housebuilder who’s focus has always been the quality of its homes.

Interiors are high specification and there is a range of house types and sizes to fit every family. There is a real emphasis throughout the business to ensure customers have a positive buying experience.

As part of this company value, the business even goes to the lengths of delaying sites if they are not up to standard. For this position they are looking for someone with the same high standards.

The Role

This position is unique in that unlike with a volume housebuilder you will get involved in many areas of the development process with a particular bias on the engineering side including civil, structural and acoustic engineering.

You will work on multiple sites (likely 3) and get involved in more than just technical – you will have an opportunity to manage select subcontractors (groundworks etc) on the early stages of the build process.

There is a lot of autonomy involved in this role, and you will report directly to the Technical Director on the progress of your sites.

As the role largely involves the management of external consultants, you will also be a part of any technical problem-solving on your projects with ultimate responsibility for the engineering discipline.

The Candidate 

With working on many different areas, this position requires a Development Manager or Senior Engineer who is good at spinning many plates as you will be liaising and managing subcontractors and consultants.

The ideal background would involve civil engineering and some build experience – if you don’t have build experience, then a robust personality is needed to take on some of the cheekier suppliers.

You will need to have previous experience working for a housebuilder to a similarly high standard and have a sense of pride in your work.
