Lincolnshire Co-operative

Senior Development Manager

Basic salary – circa £80,000

Lincoln

The Company

Lincolnshire Co-op is an independent consumer co-operative made up of a number of different business areas; funeral services, pharmacy, travel, post office, convenience stores, property owner and developer. It is owned by its members and this provides a position of strength allowing the business to remain focused on long-term growth, and creating a culture that has a strong community focus.

Being such a significant land and property owner, Lincolnshire Co-op recognises its responsibility in creating ‘place’ for a safe, happy and affluent community. To date, Lincolnshire Co-op has achieved a great deal: from managing the property portfolio and creating the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park, to developing the Carlton Centre and Birchwood Centre and reinvigorating Lincoln’s City Centre through the ongoing regeneration of the Cornhill Quarter. However, the business is now looking to focus energy and resource into further development and regeneration throughout the region and so requires a development professional.

The Role

The Senior Development Manager will play a key role in the future strategic business agenda and positively impacting the local community. They will identify development and regeneration opportunities to drive revenue but, importantly, also to directly benefit the local community. Responsibilities will include:

  •  Oversee the full development process from appraisals and analysis to project management and marketing/handover, managing all those involved in Lincolnshire Co-op and external agencies, consultancies, contractor and potential JV partners.
  •  Identify development, investment, divestment and asset management opportunities within the broad property and land portfolio, as well as beyond in the regional market.
  •  Support acquisition and disposal of properties in commercial property portfolio, working alongside agents, advisers and other partners.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience of, and passion for, development and regeneration; and an appreciation for the importance of ‘place’ within a community and the significant socio-economic impact that ‘place making’ can have on a region. They will have the skill set and experience to oversee the full development cycle; they will also be able to adopt a macro view and long term strategic approach.
