Finance Director
We are looking for a qualified Finance Director with 20+ years of quality experience. You will be responsible for managing the accounts team and ensuring they are working efficiently. In addition you will be creating and implementing strategies for the future of the business.
A dynamic family owned Property Company with over 40 years of experience in mixed-use property development in London and the South East. We are a successful, well-financed family business with an expanding professional team. This is a unique opportunity to work for a secure and growing property company. We are seeking a bright, driven, ‘hands on’/ passionate person.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Finance Director within the property industry or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
- CIMA / CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, review, and control to the budgets for each business department
- Assist in company-wide budgetary planning
- Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
- Form a close working relationship with the Managing Director, other Senior Managers and Directors.
- Provide leadership to the Board’s Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position.
- Contribute fully to the development of the company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
- Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating strategic plans
- Ensure that the company financial systems are robust, complaint and support current activities and future growth.
- Lead, support, develop and motivate the finance department.
- Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans
- Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions.
- Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
- Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed
- Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
- Oversee the Finance Department with day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing.
- Prepare and submit payroll.
- Prepare official reports on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
- Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
- Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date
- Update and implement financial policies and procedures
- Maintain and update a policy manual for the finance department
- To oversee QuickBooks transactions / summaries
- Monthly management accounts
Working hours will be 9.00 till 5.30
Holiday: 25 days
Salary: £75,000 - £100,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
