About the role

The Project Management Team aims to promote excellence in the delivery of projects, be efficient, reduce client interfaces, standardise systems and processes and gain control of project delivery to improve quality. The team works on all stages of development from initial concept through to the design, tender and construction delivery.

My client is looking for a flexible person who is willing to work in a dedicated team to facilitate the delivery of healthcare projects, predominantly based in London.

The role will support the Project Manager in delivering projects through the construction phase up to (and past) Completion. Ensuring all contractual obligations of the Client, Contractor and Designers are met and that the contract is administered in accordance with the terms of the contract and in a manner which is consistent with the relevant policies and governance parameters. The role will provide contractual support to all members of the client’s team.

What you will do:

My client is currently looking for a Construction Contract Administrator (JCT) to join the team and take ownership of large scale, health sector Construction Projects in the London area. You should be fully conversant with the JCT Form of Contract.

Ideally, as a Construction Contract Administrator you will already have experience of such duties, offering service delivery excellence on significant projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • JCT contract administration - manage and respond in a timely manner to all contractual processes including Contractor RFI’s, Technical Submissions, Contract Instructions, Change Controls etc.
  • Chairing and accurately recording meetings, such as risk reduction meetings, progress meetings, cost control meetings etc.
  • Writing all formal communications required by the contract.
  • Co-ordination between Designer Team’s and Main Contractor’s.
  • Change management.
  • Providing expert JCT knowledge.
  • Monitoring project progress against agreed
  • Liaising with multiple teams and team members, e.g. client, users, design team, specialists, construction, change, quality, planning etc.
  • Critical analysis of compensation events against contract requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance against contract requirements.
  • Manage cost control

Your experience will include:

  • Significant Construction Contract Administrator experience for JCT projects.
  • Health sector experience a distinct advantage.
  • Previous NEC3 Experience as a contract administrator or named NEC Project Manager is desirable.
  • A detailed working knowledge of JCT (and NEC) contracts
  • Change management and compensation event experience.
  • Accredited Project Manager status – APM/RICS/NEC3 accredited
  • Experience of both Public and Private Sector project delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in close partnership with clients and external consultants
  • Eagerness to use your own initiative and ensure work is delivered on time within a quality framework 
  • Experience of using programming software such as Microsoft Project
  • General Microsoft software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent time management and decision making skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work as part of a disciplined team or on own initiative
