Project Surveyor

Interim Opportunity - Project Surveyor - up to 30£ p/h - Inside IR35 - Public Sector Organisation

Your new company
This is a public sector organisation based in South London. They own a vast and interesting portfolio which includes public buildings, schools, housing stock.
Due to additional workload they are now looking to recruit a building surveyor with pm skills, to join their team.
The current team is composed by: 4 permanent members (including the line manager) and 1 temporary worker, and you will be working closely with other members from the Design and Property Services team.

Your new role
In this role, your time will split between on site work and office based.
My client is looking for a well-rounded Building surveyor, with project management skills.

The role is varied and interesting, they don't outsource work to external consultancies, they do all the work internally themselves, therefore they are looking for an experienced professional able to manage a busy workload.

Some of the duties include:

• Preparation of specifications/bills of quantities/drawings for remedial and refurbishment works
• Production of tender reports and scrutiny of returned tenders
• Carrying out site surveys
• Design of repair, refurbishment and alteration works, including structural repairs up to £500k
• Approving proposed specifications for design and build contracts/fulfilling role of employer's agent on site.
• Negotiations with insurance companies/ loss adjusters/planning departments etc.
• Producing feasibility studies and budget estimates
• Acting as a principal designer
• Use of schedule of rates for refurbishment and maintenance work

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate you will need to have extensive experience in a similar role ( 5-10y PQE), the ability to simultaneously and efficiently manage multiple projects from start to finish.
