The Role

The position is at the Stevenage office and has arisen as a result of increased workload. The successful candidate will take responsibility for property management on a wide range of commercial properties, for a diverse client base of property owners, ranging from individuals to institutions and national property companies. Brown & Lee Chartered Surveyors has a quality assurance standard to ISO9001 which ensures high levels of client service.

You will be expected to manage your own portfolio of properties whilst working alongside our Property Management Partner; but we would expect the successful candidate to ultimately take over responsibility for the department and, for the right person, there could be the opportunity of becoming a Partner in the business.

Skills/Experience

  •  Qualified Chartered Surveyor.
  •  Proven track record in commercial property management.
  •  Lease management with Landlord & Tenant experience of lease renewals.
  •  Service Charge Management.
  •  Health & Safety and Energy Efficiency awareness.
  •  IT Skills essential – Word and a thorough knowledge of Excel. Brown & Lee use Propman – an understanding of Property Management Database Management systems would be useful
  •  Knowledge of building construction and responsibly for daily repairs.
  •  Ability to arrange and co-ordinate minor and ad hoc repairs.
  •  Demonstrate people management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  •  Day to day management and client reporting.
  •  Coordinate and review service charge budgeting.
  •  Assist with invoicing, credit control, and overview of client’s management accounts.
  •  Ensure lease events are managed and client reporting undertaken.
  •  Regular property inspections for which a clean driving licence is essential.
  •  Identification of proactive opportunities from the portfolio.
  •  Manage own diary and liaise with Clients, attending annual or more frequent management meetings and providing clients with advice.
