Senior Project Leader - Northern Estates Programme
Location: London
Salary: £50,870 to £62,643
This is a full-time fixed term contract of 18 months
The 1,100-room Palace of Westminster is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. To protect and preserve its heritage, the Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme will tackle the significant work that needs to be done to ensure it can continue to serve as home to the UK Parliament in the 21st century.
To facilitate this, the Northern Estates Programme has been established to temporarily relocate the House of Commons to Parliament’s Northern Estate. This programme will work to refurbish several buildings on the Northern Estate and redevelop Richmond House to create a new chamber for Parliament and additional office space.
This is a significant and high-profile project, and we need a Senior Project Leader to liaise with various contractors and consultants who support the project.
The Role
As a Senior Project Leader, you’ll support all aspects of the project ensuring that contractors and consultants are monitored, project progress is aligned to enable the delivery of key milestones and to rectify any problems that may arise.
The role is specifically concerned with the external works projects and will involve monitoring activity on live sites across the Northern Estate. You’ll ensure projects are delivered to budget and time whilst ensuring that all other projects are adequately supported, and continuity between all areas is maintained.
The Person
This is an exciting and challenging role. As a minimum, you’ll need to have the following:
- You’ll have demonstrable experience of delivering significant, high value redevelopment projects.
- The ability to foster a culture of one team approach in achieving business and project delivery and work with the consultant advisory services team and main contractor to oversee the design, cost and schedule of the construction works.
- An accredited qualification in a related technical subject such as construction, engineering or architecture.
- Experience of contract administration of multi-million-pound technical professional services contracts.
