Your new company

Your new company is an award winning national pub operator with over 800 properties to their name from Scotland to Cornwall. The business is growing and have secured a £9m capital expenditure budget to enhance their existing property portfolio in order to maximise return on their investment.

With significant investment in their property portfolio and a national refurbishment scheme confirmed, the business are looking to expand on their property team, with a specific focus on securing a Building Surveyor with Project Management experience to manage refurbishment, fit-out, repairs and maintenance projects across the South Eastern region.


Your new role

Your new role will involve working closely with a team of four Business Development Surveyors who will be the first point of contact for licensees/tenants based in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Essex and Suffolk.

You will be responsible for reactive maintenance to pubs, authorising certain repairs or investigations and carrying out inspections personally on defects or damage above a certain value. You will also be responsible for managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from conception to completion with values of up to £500K.

You will liaise with Business Development Managers & Licensees to discuss design elements of each project, in order to maximise business usage of each unit. You will manage design consultants and review concepts with Tenants in order to produce unique environments bespoke to each pub.

You will be responsible for appointing and managing contractors and external consultants throughout each project, creating specifications and sending to tender.


What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role you will ideally come from a retail, restaurant or hospitality background, having operated at a Senior Building Surveyor level. You will need to be a confident communicator with an eye for utilising design to improve functionality / operations.

You will have prior experience managing both repairs & maintenance projects as well as producing specifications and acting as contract administrator across projects in the range of £100K - 500K.

You will need to be located in the South East of England as properties will be located throughout the region.

You will need a fully valid UK Driver's License or equivalent.


What you'll get in return

In return for your commitment you will receive a salary in the range of £45-50K with a car allowance in addition at 12% of your salary.

You will receive a private pension with a 2.5% employee and 7.5% employer contribution. On top of this you will be covered by a private healthcare scheme and will be signed up to a death in service plan effective immediately covering 3 x annual salary.

You'll be entitled to 25 days of annual leave Per Annum with an additional 8 bank holidays.
