Management Surveyor (Associate)

We are seeking a Management Surveyor (Associate) for our client, one of the top surveying practices globally with a renowned reputation and enviable culture making them one of the most desirable places to work within the industry.   

The role is based in their Birmingham city centre office with varying portfolio sizes and client types.  Responsibilities include managing others in the team, the current workload, acting as client relationship manager and to actively develop business.  

You’ll be responsible for managing clients’ properties; ensuring a proactive role in property management by carrying out regular property inspections and recording and actioning outcomes from client meetings efficiently.  You’ll be expert at reading and summarising leases and ensuring accurate data is maintained on the property management system, regularly auditing the accuracy of the data.  You’ll naturally take a proactive approach to asset management opportunities and exploit all potential initiatives.  Planning for critical lease event dates such as reviews, lease expiries and options and assisting with implementation strategy for these will ensure a smooth service is provided along with ensuring tenant arrears are proactively managed and all tenant and client queries are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.  You’ll need to draft, review and approve service charge budgets along with reviewing service charge cash flows and budgets regularly as well as approve service charge reconciliations and ensure correct codes for expenditure in line with budgets and invoice approval.  

Proven experience in the property management sector and asset management is essential, ideally within retail and / or business space property management.  You’ll be MRICS qualified.  To succeed in the role, you’ll be numerate and technically competent with the ability to deal with changing mandates and cope with a high workload.  Your strong attention to detail will be critical as will your pragmatic and common-sense approach to management and ability to work with a relatively high degree of autonomy with minimal supervision.  Finally, you’ll have a full clean driving licence to travel across sites.
