Building Surveyor Opportunity, Long Term Freelance Contract in Bristol


Your new role

As a building surveyor you will lead on the technical aspects of building projects, input to specifications and oversee design team activities. You will contribute to the development of schemes, including layouts and technical advice. You will prepare estimates, reports, working drawings, specifications and invitations to tender. You will provide general surveying advice and guidance on building projects, working alongside the Principal Surveyor and assistant Building Surveyors to provide technical surveying input, make technical decisions, provide advice and expertise to estates projects, both within a programme of major infrastructure projects or on maintenance type projects. As a building surveyor you will work effectively alongside a generalist Project Manager on transformational building projects. As a building surveyor you will provide high quality customer focused and professional Asset Management Services. This will include the delivery of responsive repairs, voids and planned works programmes to ensure the organisation who provides homes people want to live in. As a building surveyor you will carry out a range of of inspections to ensure the right work is completed to a high standard that meets the customers' needs. Carry out a range of stock condition inspections to ensure properties are in a good condition and any future repairs and improvements are identified and programmed.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this building surveyor role you must have a working experience as a building surveyor within commercial property. It would be desirable have working experience within this role with a good working knowledge of working with asbestos, working within CDM Regulation, as well as using CAD, and monitoring Safe Systems of Working. A strong contract and project management experience would be beneficial with the delivery of a range of Asset Management programmes.
