Asset Manager WCC14221

Salary Range: £46,293 - £49,203 per annum

Work Location: Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6QP

Hours per week: 36

Contract type: Permanent

Closing date: 20 September 2019

About Us:

Within the multi-culturally diverse neighbourhoods that make up Westminster, a dynamic energy exists. From the glamour of Knightsbridge and Covent Garden to regeneration projects in Edgware Road and Paddington, the council is committed to putting our residents first as well as supporting the unique combination of tourism, commerce, and business within the area to create a ‘City for All’.

The Role:

You’ll help to enhance Westminster’s diverse investment property portfolio by generating new income and creating efficiencies. Primarily you will work with external consultants and contractors on issues such as rent collection, arrears and bad debt recovery, new lettings and voids, and performance reporting. At the same time you will develop, implement and review best practice, including asset management strategies that meet the high level levels of scrutiny operating within the public sector.

About You:

Having experience in property, you’ll have a proven track-record in asset management. This should include maintaining low void rates, improving or maintaining income, reducing bad debt and implementing risk management parameters.  You’ll also bring experience of portfolio reviews, preparing business cases and managing external agents and consultants.  Familiarity with procurement in a local government context would be helpful, as would strong project management skills. Good commercial instincts and sound financial acumen are essential. You’ll be a good problem-solver, excellent communicator and able to work as part of a team.

What We Offer:

If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you. As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions. The Council and its partners are committed to achieving diverse shortlists for all vacancies at Band 4 or above to support our desire to increase the number of staff from underrepresented groups in our workforce. If you are from a black, Asian and minority ethnic background (BAME), and would like to self-declare this to the hiring manager as part of our positive action commitments.
