A well-capitalised real estate investor and developer, based in London and adept at opportunistic and value-add asset acquisitions, is looking for a Development Manager to join their team. Having recently acquired a large number of development sites spread across Greater London, the company is now looking to deploy significant amounts of capital on similar assets. The successful candidate will join a hard-working team and will be instrumental in driving the company’s continued growth.
The key responsibilities and duties of the role include:
- Due diligence execution, working alongside the Investment Manager, in addition to the underwriting of development
- Formulate projects briefs, managing the process and team from pre-acquisition stages through to obtaining planning, as well as appeals as and when necessary
- Monitor the performance of all aspects of the development process, including up to achieving planning consent whilst delivering key performance metrics to the Investment Manager
- Work closely with cost managers and contractors to ensure project viability throughout the design process
- Once planning consent has been achieved, the role will focus on the high-level overview of site delivery and managing the coordination of professional, project management, and construction teams
The key requirements of the role include:
- RICS qualified, 3-5 years of experience
- Strong understanding and experience of the planning system, with a track-record of achieving complex planning consent
- Excellent project management capabilities, able to manage multiple projects and priorities meeting deadlines in the process
- An entrepreneurial mindset is preferable, with the skill and ambition to pursue potential development opportunities whilst working in a non-hierarchical environment
This role is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong understanding of the planning system, excellent experience in development management, and the ambition to grow alongside a thriving business.
