The Role

My client is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their North London Partnership. The successful candidate will have excellent technical and communication skills and will provide a quality service and have ambition to progress their career and the business in which they operate. The team works on all stages of development from initial concept through to the design, tender and construction delivery. They need flexible people who are willing to get involved in consultancy and project delivery roles. The role is primarily based within their North London office, however, travel to projects across the UK will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Management offering based in the North London Office
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence and an ability to work in a client focused team
  • Project delivery from inception to completion, duties could typically include development of programmes, cost plans, risk registers, contracts, site monitoring on schemes from £300k to £15m
  • Spend time understanding specific client needs and ensure a high standard of service, particularly delivering what is required on time
  • Lead team activities and events
  • A good team leader who also sets an example for others to follow
  • Confident advising clients on a variety of issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • To coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, and recognise the potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them
  • Compilation of fee proposals and coordination of internal design team fees
  • To work with the Business Manager to monitor and advise on monthly revenue targets
  • To proactively identify business development opportunities and work with the Director of Estates to achieve annual targets
  • Establish a working knowledge of the firm’s QA systems and procedures.
  • Line management responsibility for the Project Management team

Key Skills/Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience and a track record of delivering high quality project management services from inception to completion
  • PM experience in consultancy managing multi-disciplinary design and construction schemes
  • Experience of Public Sector project delivery
  • Experience of Private Sector project delivery
  • Experience leading and delivering feasibility studies, options appraisals and due diligence reports
  • Professionally qualified or working towards Chartered status with the RICS or another recognised professional body
  • Committed to CPD and training to fulfil requirements and development of this role
  • Excellent oral and written communication and work in close partnership with clients and external consultants. Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and self-manage
  • Self-motivated, proactive with positive can do attitude. Highly organised and excellent communicator
  • Experience of a range of procurement methods
  • Eagerness to use your own initiative and ensure work is delivered on time within a quality framework 

Desirable Criteria:                                          

  • Degree qualified in a construction related discipline
  • Understanding of Construction Technology and methods of construction
  • Knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements inc: Building Regulations, Building Act, Town & Country Planning, Health & Safety, Disability Discrimination Act
