Under the direction of the Director of Estates the estates Project manager will accept delegated responsibility for management and delivery of capital and other projects while complying with current Estates and Financial Procedures.

My Client is a well-regarded education provider based in Leaminton Spa with sites in the surrounding Warwickshire area. They are currently in a period of capital development with a wide variety of refurbishments and upgrade projects being carried out across the portfolio. This growth has led to their requirement for an astute Estates Project Manager to support with their varied work load.

Description

The Estates Project Manager will be responsible for:

1. Management capital projects, major maintenance schemes and development appraisals, establishing project plans

2. Appointment of Design Teams and the delivery of several major capital projects in both pre-construction and construction phases at any one time.

3. Manage the preparation of briefs with client departments, managing the preparation of drawings and outline specifications.

4. Prepare accurate project estimates and budget costs for schemes including faculty relocation, building work, change of accommodation use, service installations, furniture and fittings, fees, VAT etc

5. Establish a project team; lead the selection, appointment, instruction and management of external consultant

6. Manage the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money

7. Review drawings and specifications for tender and contract documentation using AutoCAD and preferably NBS

8. Manage large, composite project and programme budgets in close liaison with the Finance and Procurement departments to ensure all projects and programmes are delivered within approved budget parameters.

Profile

The successful estates project manager will have:

● Degree or Professional Qualification in a construction related discipline, or demonstrable evidence of competency at an equivalent level.

● A full grounding in project management of projects in excess of £1 million together with relevant experience, post qualification, in

o the management and planning of projects

o management of staff

o control and co-ordination of contractors

o management of budgets in a similar capacity

● Thorough knowledge of CDM, Health and Safety and other regulatory legislation.
