About Our Client

As a forward-thinking Local Authority, Rutland is looking to bring in a commercially minded , dynamic Head of Service to drive their vision of the future. Amongst other projects, they will be part of a team that will support and lead on development and major regeneration programmes leading to new and affordable homes, a commercial zone for business, supported by a new infrastructure and public services. These high profile, unique projects require a commercially astute individual with a strong understanding of public sector programmes to drive them forward. Alongside the development of the Council's own Asset and Investment Strategy and portfolio, this makes for an incredibly varied role.

Job Description

Rutland County Council is in an exciting period of managing and implementing ambitious plans for the future. As the Head of Property, you will be the driving force behind current and future projects. You will provide professional and technical advice on all aspects of property portfolio management to Council Members and Chief Officers, taking responsibility for continued commercial regeneration and work to maximise the revenue of the Council.

The successful candidate will ensure the Council's corporate asset management plan is developed and delivered up to date and in line with the agenda of the authority to actively invest in the area. They will support the team with undertaking the necessary professional work associated with the current and future projects. This will include:

• Generating bids & tenders
• Developing and implementing the Corporate Asset Strategy
• Identifying commercial investment opportunities
• Keeping Members informed and up to date with property matters
• Managing a range of budgets.

The Successful Applicant

The new Head of Property will have a demonstrated history of delivering asset management strategy and managing teams and budgets, to include:

• Relevant professional membership
• History of managing a multi-site estate portfolio
• History of managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Significant Asset Management/Commercial Investment acumen and experience
