Top Tier Private Equity Investment Manager with an unparalleled track record in growth, are looking for a UK focused Asset Manager, at either Associate or Associate Director level. The role involves joining a dynamic, entrepreneurial and very focused team, initially looking after a large Shopping Centre and Retail Parks portfolio, but expanding into other sectors in the future. They focus on Value Add and Core Plus and are extremely good at what they do – especially in light of the evolving market conditions in the retail sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy and overall business plan for the assets, and work with operating partners to deliver the asset by asset strategy
  • Identify, recommend and execute asset management initiatives to create value and mitigate risks during the hold period (leasing, development and repositioning) in conjunction with the Operating Partners, leasing/investment agents, architects and other technical consultants.
  • Maximise operating performance; by challenging and supporting the Operating Partner (as well as other consultants), monitoring progress and working to best practice. Assess investment performance benchmarked to business plan targets on a regular basis.
  • Support annual property valuation process and preparation of internal and external reports
  • Keep senior management informed on progress of the business plan, major asset management initiatives and upcoming risks.
  • Drive sales strategy timing and management of the disposal progress
  • Work closely with the Acquisitions team in the underwriting and due diligence of new investments and assist in securing third party financing

Skills/Experience

  • Very strong academic record
  • MRICS preferred but not essential - candidates could have come from the Analyst route into Asset Management as opposed to being Chartered Surveyors
  • Strong UK Retail Asset Management experience, including Shopping Centres expertise 
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Comfortable to make effective decisions in response to changes in the market environment
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting fundamentals
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • IT literate and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
