Our multi-disciplinary consultancy who is currently in growth mode requires a well established Transport Economist to handle the transport economics component of projects handled by the Transport Department.

The client base is varied and the projects will be for UK and EMEA clients. Responsiblitiles will include but not restricted to;

  • To use the Quality System Procedures for project development as appropriate
  • To use National and International Standards as applicable
  • Prepare project identified deliverable from the department
  • Supervise and guide more junior member of staff
  • Prepare feasibility studies including using project appraisal (both financial and economic) and cost-benefit-analysis techniques, including collection of capital and operating costs for all transport modes
  • Prepare traffic demand forecasts for all transport modes
  • Prepare macro-economic studies including future estimates of national growth
  • Forecast the effects of transport improvement policy changes and environmental changes on traffic patterns and volumes
  • Prepare input on road user charging and other similar types of projects
  • prepare input on PPP type projects including element of project financing and concessions
  • Provide planning input to muli-criteria analyses for infrastructure projects
  • coordinate project details with superiors
  • Act as Project manager and mange projects led by the department as required
  • Maintain liaison and provide technical support to other departments, area offices and project sites as required.
