Surveyor/Property Manager - Birmingham 

A leading Consultancy is seeking to recruit a Property Management Professional at Surveyor level in their Birmingham team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the Day to day property management of an extensive portfolio in the covering a range of properties within the Commercial Office & Retail sector.   

The Role:

  • Day-to-day management of an extensive portfolio in the Birmingham area.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, on-site staff, occupiers and other colleagues.
  • Working closely with a Senior Director, to work alongside an established team of Surveyors
  • Responsibility for the management of a number of high profile instructions. 
  • Monitoring of compliance on site and collation of data in liaison with operational staff.
  • Carry out property inspections
  • Attend client meetings
  • Lease Reading & abstraction
  • Assist in the preparation of rent demands
  • Collation and preparation of client reports for approval
  • Assist in the preparation of service charge budgets & monitoring of service charge expenditure.
  • Cross selling other parts of the business.
  • Attend occupier meetings and liaise with occupiers
  • Assist in processing tenant applications and preparing client recommendations

Skills:

  • Able to contribute to business development activities
  • A good understanding of key issues to be noted on property inspections
  • Able to read a lease & the principles of lease structure
  • Understanding of service charge preparation & budgeting
  • Self starter who is able to plan and manage own workload
  • Good IT Software skills including Word, Excel, and Tramps databases
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Preferably RICS qualified
  • Experience within the Property Management sector
  • Proven experience of working within a Consultancy environment
