Our client is an established, entrepreneurial, and fully integrated property company.  They have a varied portfolio made up of retail and leisure assets across Europe. As part of their continued drive to improve the finance function, they are now looking for a Finance Manager to be based in Manchester.  This role will report to the Head of Finance and will involve team management of the AP/AR functions, and will require you to develop strong working relationships with the operations teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a £10m plus annual service charge budget, which is calculated 3 to 6 months in advance of the current financial year end.
  • Oversight of service charge invoicing and costs; and processing of service charge demands
  • Setting annual service charge budgets and service charge costs
  • Review of budgets versus actual costs throughout the year; performing service charge forecasts, accounting month and year-end reconciliations.
  • Day to day management of a team of financial assistants encouraging and inspiring them to attain a high level of accuracy
  • Develop close working relationships with internal colleagues and service providers to fully understand the business as well as establish an effective network of contacts
  • Preparing budgets, monitoring expenditure & income, forecasts and reconciliation of the budgets
  • Ensure that all aspects of the financial processes from purchasing to invoicing are completed in line with company policy and controls
  • Provide reports, data and analysis to support the Operations and Marketing team in strategic and operational decisions

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record in a similar role with a property developer/housebuilder/retail or hospitality sectors.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years working experience in a relevant financial management role
  • Experience of preparing budgets, monitoring expenses & income, forecasts and reconciling budgets
  • People management skills with a record of leading from the front – motivating and encouraging recognition
  • Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Qualified Accountant - AAT, CIMA, ACCA or similar
  • Proficient in MS office with good Excel skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written; communicates confidently at all levels.
