In April 2019 we moved to Hounslow House, a new landmark building located in Hounslow town centre, our new technology will enable staff to work remotely and flexibly to improve the service we provide to residents and to help our staff achieve a better work/life balance.

About The Team

The London Borough of Hounslow has a proven track record and long-standing commitment to the delivery of affordable housing and is at the forefront of the new era of building new Council Housing. With an ambitious commitment to build 1,000 new council homes by 2022, as part of our Pledge to secure 5,000 new affordable housing, we now have the following new positions

Following a recent Service Review we are seeking to fill three senior and management vacancies within our private sector acquisitions team.

These posts will be at the forefront of our drive to maximise the number of properties available for letting to households the Council as a housing duty towards. The Council has various schemes with incentive funding to support the successful candidates. The role will suit an exceptionally organised individual, who has great negotiation and procurement skills with a proven record of success working in similar fields.

The post would suit persons currently working as lettings negotiators or estate agents.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To procure an adequate supply of private sector homes of suitable size, type, location to meet the housing demands of the borough.
  2. To build and maintain positive relationships with landlords and property owners to maintain and increase the supply of private sector homes.

Your skills

  1. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  2. Extensive experience in undertaking administrative tasks relating to acquiring new rental properties such as drafting payments and lease documents, organising gas and electrical safety certification and arranging property inspections.
  3. Substantial knowledge of the homelessness legislation and processes.
