Job Title: Chartered Building Surveyor

Experience: 10 years minimum

Location: Saffron Walden, Essex – Company office in Saffron Walden but the role will involve travel around Essex/London depending on location of sites  

We are a small, well-established Property Development company with a range of experience in the residential and commercial sector. We are looking for an experienced building surveyor to work across our property development and investment companies.  You will need to have an in-depth knowledge of construction and experience working with listed buildings, refurbishments and new builds.

A high degree of self-motivation and self-reliance is required, as well as an ability to work closely and effectively as part of a small team. The skill set and a personable nature to work with and in harmony with tradesmen on site and with members of the allied professional teams is essential.

It is anticipated that after a successful probationary period and subject to other demands on the Company, a new construction subsidiary will be formed and the appointed Surveyor will be offered the opportunity to become a Director of the subsidiary Company which will have as its function, the building of all our developments.

The role offers opportunities to work from home, the company office and on site.

Duties include:

• Preparation of working drawings
• Conducting building surveys
• Programme management of development projects
• Working with our Site Manager to resolve property defects
• Assisting Managing Director in day to day running of the site
• Assisting in management of residential Investment Portfolio in Islington
• Knowledge of building regulations
• Organising documents for tender and advising on appointing contractors
