Building Surveyor

Your new company

My client, Transport for London, are looking for two Building Surveyors with Project Management experience. You will be brought in to lead on the delivery of project works to a range of commercial and residential properties within the TFL Commercial Development portfolio.

Your new role

You will be involved with capital refurbishment and upgrade projects as well as handling larger/complex portfolio based planned maintenance projects and helping our diverse range of commercial tenants fit out and maintain their units. Strong commercial and project management (as well as technical) skills are a must for this role.

Day to day duties will be focused on the project and technical management of refurbishment, upgrade, construction and fit out tasks across the Commercial Development estate. Projects will have a value of up to £10m. You may also be required to lead a team of up to five people, with additional internet/external consultants where required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team to ensure high levels of service delivery in a totally customer focused environment
• Ideally a Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or similar level in other professional body eg. CIBSE
• Knowledge and understanding of contractual issues in a project environment
• Good knowledge and understanding of legal aspects ie. CDM, Risk assessments, approval of contractors, Method statements, financial control and procurement processes and techniques
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent desirable

What you'll get in return

12-month contract with possible extension and possible temp to perm opportunity. Paying up to £400/day depending on experience.
