Property Surveyor
Established and Full Time (36 hours per week)
Tower of London, Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace (with travel to other palaces)
Historic Royal Palaces is the charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
These palaces need the greatest of care - the years have taken their toll - and we are now seeking to recruit an experienced construction and property professional to expand our team to deliver high quality conservation, re-presentation and maintenance projects across all of our sites.
We are looking for a Chartered Property Surveyor (with some post-qualification experience) to work with our Property Manager looking after HRP's property interests and planning matters across the whole estate. You will be dealing with a wide range of property management tasks including: leases, renewals, rent reviews, rent arrears, day-to-day management, simple licence agreements and, as and when necessary, freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals.
An ability to use CAD would be useful but not essential. An excellent working knowledge of planning legislation is required to assess the full effects of proposed developments around our Palaces. You will be reporting to Directors and possibly Trustees, so concise, accurate reporting skills are essential.
You will have excellent communication skills and writing skills, as well as organisational and team-working skills. You will combine the ability to work independently with maintaining a detail-conscious and commercially focussed approach in order to successfully achieve the completion of our significant projects.
Closing date: 19th January 2020
Salary: circa £46,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background
