Design Engineer

We are representing a market leading specialist sub-contractor operating in the Earthworks, Remediation & Piling sector.

Whilst being a key player across the whole Piling spectrum, retaining walls are their speciality, they design in house and have the operational capacity to also deliver them providing their clients a full turnkey cost-effective solution.

Due to consistent year on year growth, internal promotions and creation of new teams they are looking to appoint an Estimator /Estimating Engineer.

The works will surround primarily their CFA / Bored piling division. Their principle objective is to identify new business opportunities by preparing design solutions, estimated and tender proposals. The role is a mixture of design and estimating, you will have design and estimating exposure and will be expected to work from a bill of quantities or set of drawings.

Overview

Interpret engineering plans and specification to determine the scope of works managing any potential risks within ground installation.
Liaise with contracts team, conduct site inspections to understand requirement and risk assessment, identifying activities which may not be evident within tender documentation.
Adopt a proactive approach to Health & Safety liaison with H&S Manager with regards to relevant health, safety and environment legislation, policies, and processes
Familiarise yourself with companies governance procedure to determine most appropriate engineering design solution
