Circa £65 - 70k per annum plus benefits
The Diocese of Rochester is a Church of England diocese in the English county of Kent and the Province of Canterbury. The cathedral church of the diocese is Rochester Cathedral in the former city of Rochester. An ancient diocese, it includes 268 parish churches throughout the western part of the county of Kent, the London Borough of Bexley and the London Borough of Bromley.
We are looking to recruit a new Property Director to join our team. S/he will report to the Diocesan Secretary and will be responsible for the management of a substantial property portfolio located in north-west Kent and south-east London, comprising clergy housing, investment property (including land) and redundant churches. S/he is also responsible for the development of the portfolio to support the growth agenda of the Diocese and supporting parishes in management and development in line with Ecclesiastical Measures.
Key tasks:
- Developing and delivering a Diocesan property strategy for parish property and clergy housing development and investment property
- To be a member of the Senior Management team
- Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- Leading and managing people to meet objectives and targets
Skills and Experience:
- Graduate level education or a relevant professional qualification, experience in relevant legislation including Property Law, Planning Law, Landlord & Tenant Law and others
- Experience of senior management and team management in a property department of significant size
- Experience of developing strategic plans for a property portfolio
- Experienced negotiator with a track record of property acquisitions
- Have an understanding of and support the Christian ethos of the Church of England
