My client is a leader in UK defence and military services with sites across the UK. They are looking for candidates with demonstrable skills in Splunk and in particular a security background. Candidates will ideally be security cleared to aid with on-boarding.

Description

Senior Security Engineer - Splunk, CIM, Microsoft, SIEM

• Managing documentation of the dashboard design including metric details and operational runbooks
• Collaborating with Splunk Operations and Service Owner teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Leading the team of an existing team of engineers & analysts
• Implementing dashboards into test and production environments
• Reporting on the health of the estate
• Providing daily support to business functions and end-users
• Problem solving and resolution of issues with 3rd Parties
• Providing knowledge transfer to team personnel on Splunk solutions
• Analyse, architect, test and document deployment strategy of Splunk infrastructure
• Creating programmatic documentation, standard operating procedures and granular process checklists

Profile

Senior Security Engineer - Splunk, CIM, Microsoft, SIEM

Skills & Experience required:

• Hands on expertise within Splunk including certification
• Install, configure, and maintain the Splunk framework and associated product suites
• Experience in search, deployment and development, such as Data normalisation (CIM) Building a series of interconnected dashboards / an entire app
• Familiar with all Microsoft Desktop and Server OS
• Implement, operate, and maintain network security devices
• Work with security engineering team to integrate new capabilities, plan life cycle replacements, and provide input into the security architecture roadmaps
• Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
• Demonstrated, motivated self-starter able to work independently without direct supervision
• Report acceleration, summary indexing, tstats, etc.
• Splunk reports / data outside of Splunk and into other tools
• Data input filtering with regex / configs
